Q. My assignment says to find a nursing research article within the last 5 years. How do I find relevant articles that are less than 5 years old?

Try the following steps:

Step 1: Select a database that indexes nursing journals such as CINAHL or Nursing & Allied Health (ProQuest)

Ex. Choose CINAHL. Select Advanced Search.

Step 2: Type in topic keywords in the search boxes and select appropriate limiter boxes, including publication dates of 5 years ago to present year.

Ex. TOPIC: Pregnant women exercising. KEYWORDS: pregnant, exercise

LIMITERS SELECTED: Research article, Linked to full-text, Years -- last 5 years.

Articles retrieved are full-text research articles with the words pregnant and exercise within a 5 year period.

Results need to be reviewed for a “nursing related” journal.
